Refurbished Condition Guide
Refurbished, reconditioned and ex-display workshop equipment can offer substantial value, but the condition code matters. This guide explains the condition terminology used across DJM Direct Service listings so you can compare cosmetic condition, testing, packaging and warranty information before ordering.
Factory Refurbished Grades A–E

Draper EX-D
EX-D identifies ex-demo or display equipment. The source description says these items may have slight cosmetic defects that do not affect performance and may have been built up for display. Draper source listings state a 6-month approved warranty. EX-D is included here because it is condition terminology used in the wider source catalog even when a particular EX-D item is not currently part of the Refurbished collection.
What is inspected and tested?
For factory-refurbished equipment, the source refurbishment program states that tools are function tested and receive final quality inspection, with worn parts replaced where required. The exact inspection checklist varies by manufacturer and product. RECN specifically means repaired and tested. REBOX and XSHOW describe the stock/packaging or display history and do not publish a separate test checklist in their condition-code definitions.
What is included with a refurbished product?
The exact product listing is the source of truth for included accessories, manuals, hardware, batteries, chargers, tooling, consumables and other components. A condition grade by itself does not guarantee original retail accessories or packaging. If an accessory is essential to your use and it is not clearly listed, contact DJM Direct Service before ordering.
Packaging condition
Refurbished and graded equipment should not be assumed to arrive in original retail packaging. Packaging can be damaged, missing or replaced with suitable shipping packaging. REBOX specifically means the original packaging is absent and a plain box is provided if required. XSHOW and EX-D describe display history; packaging should be checked on the individual listing.
Warranty status
Warranty coverage on DJM Direct Service is product-specific. Source-market warranty references are shown above because they explain the condition programs, but they should not be assumed to transfer automatically to a U.S. sale. Read the exact product listing and Warranty Information. If U.S. warranty coverage is not explicit, contact us before ordering.
Returns on refurbished equipment
Unless a product listing or written agreement states otherwise, a return may be requested within 30 days after recorded delivery. A request is not automatic approval; DJM Direct Service provides written instructions when a return is authorized. Damaged, incorrect or defective items should be reported promptly with the order number, product details, photographs and packaging condition. Return transportation, inspection, deductions and refund eligibility are governed by the Returns Policy.
