Choosing cleaning and fluid-handling equipment

• Pressure and flow: for pressure washers and pumps, compare both working pressure and flow rate with the job rather than choosing on pressure alone.
• Tank and recovery capacity: check usable capacity for vacuums, parts washers and fluid-transfer equipment against expected workshop volume.
• Fluid compatibility: confirm pumps, seals, hoses and containers are suitable for the oil, fuel, coolant, detergent or other fluid being handled.
• Hose and cable reach: make sure operating reach is practical around vehicles and service bays.
• Power supply: verify voltage, air demand or manual pump requirements for the selected equipment.
• Filtration and extraction: compare wet/dry capability, filtration and dust or liquid recovery features where relevant.
• Maintenance and disposal: consider filter access, drain points, cleaning requirements and safe disposal procedures for recovered fluids or contaminants.
